Poll
End-user Survey   Technews together with BlueRiverStone are conducting the first major piece of research into the dynamics (structure, size, growth and underlying trends) of the South African hi-tech security industry, covering both supplier and end-user sides. The last serious piece of supplier research was done in 2001, much has since changed.

This research is set out in three phases
1. Industry Size and Growth Predictions Poll
2. Buyer and End-user survey
3. Supplier Survey
This methodology is well established in the ICT and other sectors in SA. Combined, these series of surveys will form a robust picture of the Industry, something seriously lacking up until now and upon which all good strategies depend.

Our goal is simple. To provide SA security practitioners, in the trade and at end-user level, with researched insights that are meaningful, and of value to their business and their strategic decision making processes.

We’d value your support in this ambition for the growth and strength of the industry as a whole

    Confidentiality of your data
We fully appreciate that this survey asks of respondents what is typically regarded as confidential information. To accommodate this concern we have in place a very secure system:
-You can choose to fill in the excel spreadsheet version and password protect it.
-Or fill in the online form which sends a secure email directly to Ian Kruger.
Furthermore NO individual company data will be published. Size of markets, number of players in those markets and trends are produced from aggregate data only

Part 1 Industry Predictions Poll CLOSED   1

Before you commit to the full research we would like to see what you think the results will look like.

So spend 5 mins sharing your predictions and for those respondents whose predictions come the closest to the results of our full research we have some prizes, you could even earn a full report (if you fill in the supplier survey as well)… but it will be mostly kudos to you for having the best sense of the market.

Part 2 Buyer and End-user Research OPEN

The buyer and end-user research is aimed at determining what the security budgets of major business sectors are, where they are spending their money, and what matters most to these businesses. This data validates the supplier research on the size and growth of the industry and provides some very useful insights into its drivers from a buyer and end user perspective.

What do buyer and end-users get?
Each respondent is entitled to an executive summary of this survey as well as that of the supplier survey.

  Part 3 Supplier Research   OPEN

To get a proper understanding of the Industry structure it is critical that all major players are included in this survey, and as such we would value your support and contribution to this important piece of research. The survey’s main aim is to determine the structure, size and growth of the industry, who the players are and what they think the major drivers of change in the Industry are.

What do supplier respondents get?
As a thank you for your contribution, each responding company will be entitled to the executive summary of the final report not publicly available. But most importantly you are contributing to the growth and strength of the Industry through providing information that is otherwise unobtainable.
